Broken Hearts

My mother’s side of my family has bad genes that predispose to early cardiovascular disease. I lost my sister to a heart attack when she was 42, and my Mom died from complications of congestive heart failure. The family cuisines from Poland and Italy were not, to put it delicately, exactly on the heart healthy end of the spectrum.

This series of monotypes and collographs was my way of exploring this legacy and the idea of a bad heart.
