Make Mine a Double
From 1994, when my older sister died of a heart attack, until 2010, when my Dad passed away after a long illness, I lost all but one member of my immediate family. Choosing the theme “Make Mine a Double” from the Sketchbook Project, this sketchbook of collages tapped into childhood memories to provide a cathartic way to honor their memories.
I loved how the tooth turned out, a serendipitous discovery of mixing gesso, medium, and charcoal over a montage of sugar packets.
